Lazy Days

The test went pretty well in Modern US History, and my cartoon report wasn't too bad today, i could have been a better orator i guess. I guess it didnt help taking a break from finishing it last night to go to the Fairview with College.

Still have no job, none of these weasels are calling back dammit.

The Devils thrashed the Rangers last night, Elias had 2 points and the Devils have suddenly taken the lead in the Atlantic division. 2 games left before the playoffs start.

Finally, i thought i would share another CollegeBoy Classic™:

First off, a classic night at Dennys. After some binge drinking, College, Matt, Brad, Dan and I made it to our favorite late night eatery. While we were waiting in line, College found a black girl and started flirting with her. Somehow he got into a religious discussion with this black girl. Soon enough College was talking about his religious beliefs (he has none) and about how he was dedicated to his church (he doesnt go). Then they hold hands and start praying with their eyes closed. College couldnt help but smile, and we were dying so i decided to remove College's hat revealing his week long unwashed hair and slapping him in the face. Afterwards we all shared a laugh and College eloquently stated that he just wanted a piece of the "Praisin Raisin." Then we got to the table and College started propositioning our waitress. He also related the story of how he was going to take Alex Rodriguez's job at short stop if a errant line drive hadnt lodged his testicles into his ass. Great night.

Dah Dah Dah-Dah-Dah Potvin Sucks!

Its Sunday and that means MGD hockey. We railed another opponent, 8-4. CollegeBoy made his return to goal and had a respectable game. I had a goal (thanks to a lovely pass from Todd) and an assist. We're looking pretty good, and we are getting that seldom used idea of teamwork.

Semi big week of school coming up; i have a test in Modern US History Tuesday and a political cartoon presentation on Wednesday.

Now its on to watch Law & Order SVU.

I have never been a quitter

Tonight was pretty fun...went to a place called Cross Roads with Wayne, Angel, and Dan. I used to work with Wayne and Angel at that fish place. Nice seeing them again, it was fun. After that went to the Fairview with College, Josh and Cindy. That was cool...Josh and Cindy just got word they can settle on a house, so good for them.

The Devils beat Atlanta tonight 5-0. Thats all and good, but its a non-playoff team, so no need to get all crazy ill mad rowdy or anything. Elias had a goal and 2 assists.

Tomorrow R&R, then the bar again i imagine. Sunday another hockey game.

I know what you're thinking, did he fire six shots or only five.

My name is Richard, and I have an addiction. I am addicted to Law & Order. I cannot stop watching it. It is taking over my life. Jerry Orbach, Richard Belzer, Ice-T, Mariska Hargitay, i love them all. What a great show.

I had a "debate" in Modern American History today, which did not go to well. I didn't say a word until the very end. I wanted to participate, i really did...but as it went by, all of my arguments were either sqashed or already spoken for.

Devils lost to Tampa tonight, continuing their streak of not beating teams that are going to the playoffs. Elias got a goal, but damn they suck. Scott Stevens is skating again...so im not gonna give up quite yet.

Since im doing a paper on Richard M. Nixon, the greatest President in U.S. History, ive found a quote to share, which happens to correlate to this Blogger:

"Sometimes you will apply for a job and you won't get it and you will think it is the greatest setback, but just remember it isn't losing that is wrong; it is quitting. Don't quit. Don't ever quit. Keep trying, because this country need the very best that you, the young generation of America, can give to it."

I know things about pigeons Lily

MGD began another season of exciting hockey Sunday. We railed a team called the Rabid Bunnies(?!), 11-4. College got sick and had to miss, so we called on his brother Matt, who played excellent...pretty good for the 2nd time he's ever played goal. He stacked the pads, had a few good glove saves and played guitar on his goal stick. I added a goal and 3 assists.

I need a haircut today, and might apply to another job in Lititz today. Its not as close as id like it to be, but whatever.

"I don't care if he was a war criminal, you shouldn't have let him go!"

My NCAA bracket is totally gone to hell, Stanford lost and i had them going to the Final. 3 of my Final Four are still alive...Kentucky, Texas and Oklahoma State. Oh well.

Went to the Fairview tonight...big gathering; College, Kate, Josh, Cindy, Christina, Melissa, Jason and Jen. Josh and College were rowdy and there was too much sex talk for my liking, but it was fun.

MGD begins its 6th season of exciting hockey tomorrow. I don't know who we are playing but i expect a win regardless. Our whole team is back..Kyle Durkin won't be there, and seeing that he's probably the best player in the league it might hurt our chances..but i'm not worried.

Here I go again on my own...

Ah yes...Started at the Fairview Tavern with College. Gary and Donna were there, College's parents for those who don't know, and it's always a treat to have a beer with Gary. After that went to House of Pasta and met up with Reber, Matt and Kyle, a few guys i worked with at That Fish Place. Nice to see those guys again...and there were a multitude of hot bitches there, so we'll call it a good night.

Devils tied Montreal..makes them 1 point closer to the Flyers..second half of a home and home with the Canadiens Saturday is up next.

I'm doing pretty well on my NCAA Tourney so far, my Final Four are still alive.

This has been Richard.

Last time it happened: Pete Weber, Fountain Bowl

St Patrick's Day! Went over to Hot Z's in Landisville. Our waitress was a total ditz and forgot everything we asked for. Oh Well. Fun night with College, Kate, Josh and Cindy. Plus it was $1 Molson Canadian drafts, which happen to be my favorite beer in all the land.

It friggin showed yesterday. After wearing shorts for the last while, it snowed! Unreal.

The Devils unleashed a fierce ass kicking on the Penguins tonight, 6-1. I only wish that i still worked with Jeff H. so i could rub it in. No goals for Elias tonight, but Friesen had 2 goals and 2 assists and it would be nice to see him warm up before the playoffs...and recent acquistion Victor Kozlov had 4 points so thats bonus.

Showcase of the Gory Blade Jobs.

Went to Brad and Durkin's house to see Wrestlemania tonight. It was alright, but on the whole it was pretty lame. The womens match was a sight to behold, and the triple threat was great. but pretty predictable on the whole.

Earlier my cousins Chuck and Ron came over...havent seen them in awhile, so it was nice to see them.

I have a head cold and it makes me miserable as hell.

Gretzky gets the pass and blasts one by Potvin

Went to that party tonite. It was pretty cool. Lots of beer and liquor. I love that Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka. We played this movie trivia game...it was part card questions, part DVD clips. Our team of Matt, Laura, Josh, Cindy and I dominated and won with relative ease.

Devils lost to the Flyers again! But both Flyer goals tipped off Devils AND the cross bar, so I don't believe it was a huge loss. But now the Atlantic Division is out...and 7th is looking like a real possibility.

I'd like to mention that that Nike commercial with Lance Armstrong boxing, and Andre Agassi playing for the Red Sox and Urlacher and Vick playing for the Colorado Avalanche is pretty damn cool and one of the best commercials i've ever seen.

Tomorrow, looks like im gonna go to Islands and enter a March Madness pool. Should be fun considering i'll get to hobnob with Tim Smalls and Pishke. And Gary the Animal will be there, so it should be one for the ages.

If you like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain

Friday afternoon...just listening to music and watching tv. Uncle Merle and Aunt Barb are coming today. Always fun to see them.

Tonight, the Fairview, tomorrow the party that never happened last weekend. Should be exciting.

Last night while talking to Nate Mauger, i found some old tapes that we made on his boat when we were 13. We called it Cheesy Crackers, and damned if we weren't immature retards. Just being 13, making stupid jokes and farting into the microphone. Mildy amusing. I also found another that Tim Smith and I made a few years after the one with Nate and I. There was even a special appearance by Chris Glowacki and his witty Bosnian Insults and Serbian Comebacks bit. The second tape was actually pretty funny, as we had graduated from fart jokes to outright vulgar sexual humor. Tim was actually high-brow funny for 15 or 16. He made a few jokes about OJ Simpson and Magic Johnson that had me in tears. Listening to them kept me up till 5 am, dying of laughter. Its cool to hear things like that since im so nostalgic and obsessed with the past and that my parents never did any recordings of me or my sister when we were younger.

Yogi Berra, Lou Pinella, Bucky Dent, Billy Martin, Dallas Green, Dick Houser, Bill Virdon, Billy Martin, Scott Marrow, Billy Martin, Bob Lemmon, Billy Martin, Gene Michael, Buck Showalter, … uh, tut!, . . .George, you didn't hear that from me."steinbrenner

"We're not just gonna let you walk out of here." "Who's we sucka?" "Smith and Wesson and Me."

Today was Dirty Harry Film Festival Thursday. I went out and rented Dirty Harry, Magnum Force and The Enforcer. They all were pretty good; I love the Dirty Harry character. Just need to see Sudden Impact all the way thru and i'm a completist. The scene in Dirty Harry where the criminal is driving the bus of kids and finds Callahan standing on top of the bridge waiting is one of the best visuals i've ever seen in a movie. If I could go back and do anything with my life, i'd absolutely want to be a film maker.

Devils are beating the Blackhawks as I type, so they should be back on the right track for the rematch with the Flyers Saturday. Probably not, but we have to be optimistic with our heroes.

I got my first real six string, bought it at the five and dime, played it till my fingers bled...was the Summer of '69.

Devils lost to the Flyers tonight, which gets me nice and pissed. They looked awful for most of the game, but looked alright in the 3rd. They could have jumped to the 5th spot, but what a kick in the ass.

Everyone is in such a fuss over Todd Bertuzzi. For those who don't know, he sucker punched Steve Moore from Colorado last night. He nailed him from behind and then fell on him, riding him to the ice, which broke his neck in 3 places and cut his face pretty bad and gave him a concussion. All in retribution for Moore hitting Naslund a few weeks ago and giving him a concussion. Now, it was uncalled for and he should be suspended. But people calling for lifetime ban and stuff like that are nuts. Its really no worse than what Marty McSorely did a few years back. So give him 20 games or the rest of the year and thats it.

Our petty version of hockey starts 2 sundays from now, and i'm excited. We have a decent team and we've been playing together for a few years now, so it should be fun.

Quitting cigarettes hasn't worked out like i'd want it to...its tough when you go out and everyone around you is smoking. Oh well...we'll check back in a few days.

I was trying to think of a Classic Collegeboy Moment™ and here's what i came up with:

December 31st, 2002. New Years Bash at the Constein Compound. Dan Constein vs. Kyle Constein. Special Referee: Yours truly. This night saw a wild party at the compound. Massive amounts of beer was consumed(common theme amongst College moments). Earlier in the evening Ravi was beaten like a red headed step child by Kyle. Soon the beer got to Kyle and Dan, who was home for the holidays from Lousyana. The 2 combatants squared off in the epic bout that is remembered to this day. Weapons were used. My copy of Royal Rumble met it's fate when College broke it over Dan's head. Tin Buckets were smashed. College tried to gain the advantage with a bottle of antifreeze. It didnt work out and College's x-mas gift from Matt, a David Justice Cleveland Indians jersey was stained forever red. The match came to an abrupt end when College tried to grab my legs and flip me over. Instead of calling for an immediate disqualification, i handed College a modified pedigree and College's head hit the hard wood floor with an audible thud. College with a mix of beer and hardwood floor, was out cold. But it was great while it lasted and stands as one of the most fun nights in my life.

With Bertuzzi in such a big fuss, im reminded of a quote from Dino Ciccarelli in 1996. He was pissed over Claude Lemiuex hitting Kris Draper from behind, driving his face into the boards, causing deep facial lacerations, a broken nose and a broken jaw:

"They beat us, they're the better team. I can't believe i shook this guy's friggin hand after the game. That pisses me right off."

Go ahead, make my day.

Its Spring Break, so no school this week. No work, No school means absolutely nothing to do this week. I'm sure it will get to me by Wednesday afternoon.

I applied to Lowe's today, hopefully i can get a job there in the next week or so. As much as I like to be loafing around, i'd like to get back to work.

College, Matt and I played some baseball Sunday. More like hitting the ball to each other, but fun anyway. Then shot some hoops and went home.

Rented In the Line of Fire today because i'm on a Clint Eastwood kick. Great movie, just need to see the rest of the Dirty Harry series and i'll be good.

It can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with...it doesn't feel remorse or pity, and absolutely will not stop until you are dead.

Well the party never happened, ended up drinking beer, playing cards and watching Law and Order SVU at College's tonight. Quite a little quiet fun night.

Earlier, i watched Blood Work. Nothing beats a good Clint Eastwood movie. Highly reccomended, along with In the Line of Fire, Dead Pool...really any Dirty Harry movie. Eastwood knows how it's done.

I'm looking at applying to 2 places on Monday, so hopefully this money-less pit will end soon.

NHL: Devils beat the Hurricanes tonite, Elias added another goal, thats 31 for the season. 40 seems pretty good, and with the pace he's on, 50 isn't out of the realm of possibilty. Go Devils.

Other than that, i'll say hi to Rahul from India and i'm still done with women.

Run Naked in the Rain.

Tonite was pretty interesting. Went to see Matt play basketball at CMS. Funny I haven't been to Centerville Middle School in 11 years, but the gymnasium still smelled the same. Matt's team lost and it was a playoff game, so their team is done. They passed like hell and turned the ball over like it was the plague. Oh well...reminds me of the hockey team College and I coached a few years back. No one would pass (at least pass well), no defense (big attribute of the Extreme College and I coached), and one or two guys leading the scoring. But, it was fun to watch.

After that, College and I went to the Fairview. Drank a fair amount, played darts with College, Josh, Cindy and George--a guy i went to highschool, who likes the Devils---big plus in my book. George won both games...what a hustler. Afterwards, went to Turkey Hill and BS'd with Jerry about the NFL, politics and alot of other BS. Got 3 DVD's courtesy of College, so there's something to bide my time with this weekend.

Devils lost to Tampa tonite. Damn, i was looking at this game as a measuring stick as to whether or not they are ready to really defend the Cup. The EGG Line got 1 total point. No further comment.

Look up, see Blue

Wow, that World to 1500 test was killer. So much material to go over, and it didn't stick when i got the exam. Oh well. Tomorrow is an another exam in American Foreign Policy, which should be a bit easier.

Don't know how this weekend is going to shape up, looks like Kate, College and I might go see Matt play basketball at Centerville Middle School...my old stomping grounds, and since im a sentimental kind of guy, it should be neat to see the old school. After that i imagine some Bud Light will come into the picture, then saturday some party that some girl is having. Probably hockey in there somewhere as well.

For the quotes tonight, im reminded of some classic quotes from Canucks GM Brian Burke:

"I want to point out to the officials that Todd Bertuzzi does not play for Detroit. It just looks like that because he is wearing two or three red sweaters all the time."

"Desire is irrelevant. I am a machine."

Day of relaxation. Watched tv all day. Im lazy.

I've got a mid term tomorrow and problem is that i missed a bunch of classes, and i have alot to catch up on. Oh well, im good under pressure. Everyone at school seems to be pissed that our mascot the Maurauder is going to change from a pirate to a parrot. Seems the pirate scared the kids too much. Thats pretty ridiculous if you ask me, but i've never gone to one Millersville event since i started, so why would my opinion matter?

Devils beat Florida tonight to get off the schnide. Elias had 3 points and Gomez got 1 goal and 4 assists. Damn. Hopefully they can string some wins together and move out of 6th in the East.

I'm loving the weather lately, i got to wear shorts the other day..heh. Hope it continues onto Spring.

Sorry, we're closed.

Spent the night at College's...Kyle got me a Devil's calendar....watched some of the Capitals Panthers game. Then we adjorned to the VillNova for some Bud Light and sang We Didn't Start the Fire by Billy Joel on Kareoke. We got a total of one person to clap for us, so i take we were pretty bad.

Money problems are becoming a huge problem, as i have no income and my car insurance, credit card and cell phone bill are all coming up. I don't regret quitting That Fish Place, but i wish i had some way to make money.

I've got a major test in World to 1500 on Thursday and another exam on American Foreign Relations on Friday. Joy.

Just for personal record, i have given up on women...just want to see how that measures up to how i feel down the road, but for now it seems alot easier for me. Oh well, there's always my one true love to fall back on, i should have realized by now; i always go back to it. See the final scene from the last episode of Cheers to see where im coming from on that one.

Also, i'm gonna give quitting smoking a try. I did it once for about a week in hopes of winning the favor of a girl and not to mention a pan of brownies. Worked then(not for the girl), but now it's gonna have to be for health and financial reasons. I tried today and was successful for about 5 and a half hours before i bought a pack around 6:50. Smoked the entire pack by 12:15...heh. But now i'm out and i'm gonna give it a try again. Plus it gives me flem issues in the morning, so it would be a pleasantry anyway.

Eh, call it a night.

Just another boring Monday, wish it were Sunday

Boring. Went to class this morning, and did pretty well on the All Quiet on the Western Front test.

Went to Kyle's house last night, played Hitz and watched the prestigious Golden Mullet Awards. God bless Canada for giving us Barry Melrose. Later we watched the less prestigious Oscars...felt really bad, Bill Murray should have gotten the Best Actor award...If you're not going to give him one for Ghostbusters or Kingpin, you have to give him one sometime.

Sunday got to watch the Quantum Leap marathon. Loved that show when i was in junior high and haven't really seen it since. Then played hockey with Chester at East Pete. I havent played regularly since Thanksgiving, and i'm feeling it. My leg pad twisted when i went down for a save, and got nothing but knee on concrete, so that hurts so good.

Looking forward to a day of relaxation, but i should be finding a job.
